| FOURTH ANNUAL THANKSGIVING AT POOR RICHARD'S CAFE
was another success as Rotarians and Friends served a free Thanksgiving Dinner to those less
fortunate. Special Thanks go to Richard and Linda Butterly who are the
driving force behind this event. Their staff led by James Wells, Phil
Magallan, Sonja Ryder and the Kitchen Staff did a fantastic job with meal
preparation and service.
Rotarians and friends greeted the guests, seated them at tables, took
drink orders and served the dinner, rolls, and dessert. Then, they cleaned off the
tables for the next round of guests. There were 535 meals served from
about 11 am to 2 pm. There were another 500 meals delivered to Plano &
Wylie Meals on Wheels Routes, The Samaritan Inn, Plano Senior Homes East and
West, and God's Food Pantry. Many off duty uniformed Plano Policemen
driving their own vehicles helped with the deliveries.
