4-WAY TEST
Glenn Justice

PRESIDENT ROD called on Secretary Randy to introduce the visiting Rotarians and guests. Randy rummaged around and found Jeff Frauenheim {Marketing} from the Plano Rotary Club. Jeff erroneously listed his home club as "Thurs" and the Sgt-at-Arms failed to fine him. Of course, Secretary Randy failed to notify Sgt-at-Arms Doug of the grievous error.  Jeff's guest was his nephew, Bill Wray [no relation to Doug Ray] who is an Attorney specializing in B2B cases.

ABSENT WERE Ric Armstrong, Steve Blair, Matt Brown, Richard Butterly, Kevin Cain, Rick Chron, Steve Dippel, Ray Hopper, Paul Huang, Judy Jackson, Ken Lambert, Sharon Lewis, Colin Light, Juergen Mahneke, David McCall, Bill Peterson, Doug Ray, John Roach, Chris Sharon, Jim Stroup, Richard Wells, Matt Moore, Brenda Rogers and Eric Hartter.

SECRETARY RANDY regaled us with some famous sayings: Claude Pepper said "A stockbroker urged me to buy a stock that would triple it's value every year.  I told him "At my age, I don't even buy green bananas'." Anne Bancroft said "The best way to get more husbands to do something is to suggest that perhaps they're too old to do it".  Dwight D. Eisenhower said "An intellectual is a man who takes more words than necessary to tell more than he knows."

SGT-AT-ARMS DOUG
fined President Rod for having his badge on backwards and George Elking for not having a Rotary pin on. George showed a strip of pins and says he buys a half dozen at a time to keep up with the ones he sends to the cleaners, to the laundry and to ?

FOUNDATION CHAIRTHING SKIP JENKINS
tried to give some Rotary Foundation information as Shep Stahel evaded the Sgt-at-Arms and rudely left early at 7:24 am.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Vocational Director Pat Hite, was the 4-Way Speech contest. There was not the usual plethora of contestants.  Representing Plano East Senior High was David Liu, who was accompanied by his teacher Barbara McCain. David did such a good job talking about Apathy among young people not meeting the 4-way test that he received a standing ovation.  He also won a $200 scholarship from the club.

PRESIDENT ROD called on Oktoberfest Chair Person Randy Plumlee to begin harassing us for Oktoberfest on Oct 15, 2007 at the Bavarian Grill.  Scott Villines talked about more tools for Tool Time month [February] and pleaded for NO MORE screwdrivers. Chris Roach encouraged us to visit the corporate sponsors and get in their budgets early in the year rather than closer to October.

ROTOPIG
had a fine moment with President Rod, who tried to close the meeting early and with CPA Bob Warren, who warned the procrastinators that they had exactly 60 days to file their extension.
BLOOD DRIVE CHAIRTHING TOM RODGERS reported that 148 pints were collected from the three Collin County Community Colleges.
GEORGE ELKING noted that he had such a good time 5 years ago getting a hip replacement that he going to get the other one done on February 27th.  He's already planning his make ups.

PRESIDENT ROD finally closed the meeting with a blast from his "That was Easy" button.
