OUR FAITHFUL SERVERS Ramone and Rene prepare to serve us breakfast, as new Treasurer Chris Roach prepares to serve us invoices.

INCREASED BUMBLING INEPTITUDE
was the order of the day.  Secretary Randy was absent and no arrangements were made to cover for him. President Rod dredged up Club Service Director Scott Villines who volunteered to take notes on attendance.  He did a good job missing only Eric Hartter's last name and failing to list Doug Cargo among the present even though he met him face to face several times.

SECRETARY RANDY DID LEAVE US SOME WISE WORDS OF WISDOM: J. P. Morgan said: "A man always has two reasons for doing anything---a good reason and the real reason."  Lyndon B. Johnson said: "Being President is like being a jackass in a hail storm. There's nothing to do but stand there and take it."

ACTING SECRETARY SCOTT VILLINES scratched his head a lot trying to figure out the job he volunteered for. Sgt-at-Arms Doug Cargo showed him no mercy and fined him.

VISITING ROTARIANS, introduced by quasi-Secretary Scott, were all from the Plano Rotary Club [Thursday noon] and were L. B. Broach [Minister], City Manager Tom Muehlenbeck [Tourist], Walter Myers [Swimming Pool Construction] and Maribelle Davis [Librarian]. Lucky Guest was Danny Morris [TI] who was the guest of Deb Burdick.  Maribelle was also the guest of husband Reeves Davis.  Danny Morris has visited before and was expecting to be proposed by Commissar Jerry Hoagland who rudely left the club after he was re-elected last  year.  Deb is going to take up the paperwork and see him through.

ABSENT WERE Joyce Baumbach, Richard Biggers, Steve Blair, Matt Brown, Rick Chron, David Daniels, George Elking, George Elwell, Judy Jackson, Glenn Justice, Sharon Lewis, Juergen Mahneke, David Marks, Bud McBrayer, David McCall III, Don Mellor, John Payton, Darrin Pennartz, Randy Plumlee, Tom Rodgers, Chris Sharon and Jane Wyen.

SGT-AT-ARMS DOUG was a victim of the promised badge box rearrangement and fined himself for wearing the wrong badge.  He was unable to find anyone else of like mind to share the burden of such bumbling.  Perhaps next week, when some of today's absentees visit the badge box for the first time since the reshuffle.
ROTARY EXPO <LINK> COORDINATOR COLIN LIGHT informed us of a storage building across the side street and around the corner where we can begin to accumulate the vast amounts of stuff we will be cleaning out of our domiciles for the Auction and Rummage Sale at Texas Stadium on Saturday, April 14th.

GADGET MONTH GUY DOUG BICKNELL showed off a special pair of glasses from The Sharper Image that helps one find golf balls on the rough. Doug Ray donated a universal battery checker and admired the Leaf Grabber that eliminated the need to bend over and pick up a pile of leaves.
TREASURER CHRIS ROACH had invoices for those who need such devices to  pay their dues.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by program Chairthing John Roach, was David Schulz, Vice President of Development for SPCA of Texas <LINK>. The SPCA headquarters on Industrial near downtown Dallas will become an onramp for the Expansion of I-35.  New headquarters will be at I-30 and Hampton Road. Some staff have moved there but the Animal Care Center and Spay/Neuter & Wellness Clinic are still at 362 S. Industrial. Branch clinics are in North Dallas and South McKinney.  Big Event coming up is Pet Fest 2007, Saturday, April 21 at the Perry Campus, 8411 Stacy Road [FM720] near Custer in McKinney from 12-3 pm. As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School in honor of the speaker and duly signed by him.  The Book was "Eye Openers / PETS" .
FEMA DIRECTOR BILL PETERSON reported on his visit to the Adelaide, Australia Club where fines are $3 each and everyone gets fined twice.  He was the youngest one there.  He presented the club with a banner to hang with our banner collection. Doug Ray suggested that it should be hung upside down. Bill said that flushed  water really does circle the other way.
