I pick up things. What am I?" When the test papers were turned in, the teacher was astonished to find that almost 50 percent of the students answered the question with the word Mother.

BLOOD DRIVE CHAIRTHING
Tom Rodgers reminded us about the next annual Battle of the Badges Blood drive July 12-14 between the Police and Fire Departments. There will be a float in the 4th of July Parade related to this and ideas for the float are solicited.  Last year featured a boxing ring with a policeman and a fireman duking it out.

PRESIDENT ROD was looking for a few announcements and lamenting that someone had already donated his quarters to ROTOPIG and that he had only 7 more meetings to go.

COACH JIM STROUP, chairperson in the Merry Monty of May is gathering Sports items for the Oktoberfest Auctions was pleased that someone brought something and Steve Blair volunteered to do some golfing.
ROTOPIG VISITED JUDY JACKSON and collected one of the ready and willing quarters from Judy's stash on the tabletop.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Program Chairthing John Roach, was Samantha Zorn who presented a slide show on her adventures at the International RYLA Convention <LINK>. The 2006 International RYLA was held  June 8-11,  2006  at the Sundsgården Folkhögskola in Helsingborg, Sweden, and preceded the 2006 Rotary International Convention.  Over 100 participants from 25 different countries representing more than 60 districts attended this successful event.  As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School in the name of the Samantha and duly signed by her.  The Book was "All the Children of the World" <LINK> by Karen Leimert.
