RAMON AND RENE serve up scrambled eggs as Lame Duck President Rod Hogan scrambles to conduct his last regular meeting.  Next week's he's gone and past Lame Duck President Richard Butterly gets one more chance to show how it really should be done.
PRESIDENT ROD called for Sgt-At-Arms Doug Cargo to carry ROTOPIG around for some fine moments and discovered that Chris Roach, who had been entrusted with ROTOPIG last week, had failed to bring him to the meeting.  Doug had to fall back on one of the Junior Pigs and carry him around in a hard hat.  His first action was to fine Chris a dollar.

LUCKY GUESTS, introduced by Secretary Randy Plumlee, were Jenay Bowen [Mortgage Banker] guest of Brenda Rogers [Real Estate],  Judy Kresich [CCAR - Real Estate] guest of the absent Randy Wright [Real Estate from Plano Rotary] and Danny Morris [Software Engineer] guest of and neighbor to Shep Stahel.  The Secretary was fined for name mangling and mis-introductions.

VISITING ROTARIANS
were Happy Franklin [Financial Planning] from Preston Center Rotary Club, Lee Dunlap [Architect] from the Plano Rotary Club and Walter Meyer [Swimming Pool Construction] from the Plano Rotary Club.

ABSENT WERE Ric Armstrong, Joyce Baumbach, Richard Biggers, Matt Brown, Richard Butterly, Kevin Cain, George Elwell, Yvonne Hanks, Eric Hartter, Judy Jackson, Skip Jenkins, Glenn Justice, David Marks, Bud McBrayer, David McCall, Don Mellor, Bill Neukranz and Don Wilhelmus.

SECRETARY RANDY had two anonymous quotes.  One night a father overheard his son pray: "Dear God, make me the kind of man my Daddy is".  Later that night, the father prayed: "Dear God, make me the kind of man my son wants me to be."   Small boy's definition of Father's Day:  "It's just like Mother's Day, only you don't spend so much."

SGT-AT-ARMS DOUG found several different kinds of bottle openers all with ID tags on them and returned them to their alleged owners for a fine.  Our TEE TOTALING SOMMELIER Warner Richeson collected a few bottles for the Oktoberfest auction including a tall one from George Elking's back yard.

JUDY KRESICH [CCAR - Real Estate]
guest of the absent Randy Wright [Real Estate from Plano Rotary]  wanted to know what the two-bit fines were for. So,  Sgt-at-Arms Doug and Junior Pig demonstrated that they could be for ANY reason, such as the absence of the person who sent you to the meeting.
HAPPY FRANKLIN, from the District 5810 Membership Action Team presented sponsor pins to some members, who have proposed new members that joined Rotary.  George Elking also received a loaf of Banana Nut Bread because he has sponsored four new members.

BLOOD DRIVE CHAIRTHING TOM RODGERS
reminded us of the  blood drive on the three Collin County Community College Campuses on June 26.  The Battle of the Badges Blood drive will have a float in the 4th of July Parade, and the blood lines are drawn between the Police and Fire Departments on July 12, 13, 14.

PROPOSED FOR MEMBERSHIP and approved for publication is Danny Morris, who works for TI as a Software Engineer.   He is sponsored by his neighbor, Shep Stahel.  He will be inducted as soon as and whenever the present or future administrations can get their act together.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by District Attorney John Roach, was Chris Milner, Assistant District Attorney in Collin County talking about Mortgage Fraud in Collin County. Mortgage Fraud = THEFT! There is a lot of that going on in Texas and around the country since the FBI is concentrating on terrorism. County law enforcements are beginning to take an active role in prosecuting mortgage fraud.  The Collin County DA's office is particularly strong on this. As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David B. McCall Elementary school in the name of the speaker and duly signed by him.  The Book was "Home Sweet Home" by  Jean Marzollo. <LINK>
