THE DAYS ARE GETTING LONGER. Winter is on the way.
VISITING ROTARIANS, introduced by lame-duck Secretary Richard were Ben Coker [Education Administration] from East Dallas and Wayne Mayo [Real Estate Appraiser] from Richardson Central. Ben rudely left early at 7:34:27 am and Wayne politely stayed for the whole meeting. ROTOPIG had a fine moment with Secretary Randy.
INDUCTED IN A MOVING CANDLELIGHT CEREMONY, sans harp music, was Danny Morris. He has been loaned the classification of Software Engineer and was sponsored by his neighbor Shep Stahel. ROTOPIG gave Danny his first official two-bit fine and also ripped off his sponsor.
PERFECT ATTENDANCE PINS WERE PRESENTED TO George Elwell - 1 year, Chris Roach - 2 years, Paul Huang - 3 years, Rick Chron - 3 years, Matt Brown - 4 years, John Roach - 4 years, Tom Rodgers - 4 years, Jane Wyen - 5 years, Greg Rushin - 5 years, Bill Neukranz - 6 years, Reeves Davis - 6 years, Kevin Cain - 7 years, Bob Warren - 7 years, Colin Light - 7 years, George Elking - 7 years, Richard Butterly - 7 years, Steve Dippel - 7 years, Ken Lambert - 18 years, Terry Dobbins - 29 years, Steve Blair - 33 years and Ray Hopper - 33 years. TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by the outgoing Program Chairthing John Roach, was Mary Cathcart from Heifer International <LINK>. She was accompanied by Diane Knight. Heifer International is a non-profit , humanitarian organization dedicated to ending world hunger and caring for the earth by providing livestock, trees, training and other resources to help struggling families around the globe. Heifers, Llamas, Goats, Trees, Honey Bees and Chickens can be donated. Jim Stroup asked about donating our own Penelope Pig to the cause but was turned down and will still have to care for her until someone else misses and fails to make-up. As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David B. McCall Elementary school in the name of the speaker and duly signed by her. The book---which was inappropriate due to a final fit of Bumbling Ineptitude --- was "Farmer George and the New Piglet <LINK> by Nick Ward.
