TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Steve Blair, was Rutledge
Haggard, Chairman of the Board of the Hendrick Academy of Honor <LINK>.
The mission of the Academy is to provide the means for qualified students
who have had adversities to enroll in college and, with continued moral and
financial encouragement and support, to graduate. Our club presents gift
certificates to the students at their annual Christmas Luncheon. For some,
this is the only gift they get at Christmas. Their next fund raising event
is the annual golf tournament sponsored by the Plano Rotary Club on
September 10th at Heritage Ranch. As is our custom, a book was donated
to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary school in the
name of the speaker and was duly signed by him. the book was "Life
Doesn't Frighten Me" by Maya Angelou <LINK>.

MEMBERSHIP LAST ROTARY YEAR started at 52 and ended at 52.
We added Doug Cargo, Deb Burdick, Keith Sockwell, Skip Jenkins,
Ron Wilson, David Marks, Bill Moore, Matt Moore, Brenda Rogers,
Eric Hartter, Bill Wray and Danny Morris. We lost Jan Jane, Bill Fox,
Ron Wilson, Robert Aasen, Deb Burdick, Jerry Hoagland, Matt
Moore, Darrin Pennartz, Chris Sharon, Skip Jenkins, Doug Bicknell
and Keith Sockwell. Those in italics came and went in the same
year.
