TINO'S TOO is growing tomatoes right outside the front door for the freshest Salsa in Plano.
SGT-AT ARMS DOUG CARGO wanted to know where ROTOPIG was and why he was stuck with a PINK talking pig for collecting fines. He didn't get any answers. Traditionally it has been the responsibility of our beloved President to see that ROTOPIG makes it to the meeting. President Richard is going to new heights in lowering the mediocrity.

LUCKY GUESTS
, introduced by Secretary Chris were Terry Lacy [Graphics/Printing] guest of Steve Blair and Todd Bristow [Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Collin County] guest of Danny Morris.

CHRIS ROACH
claimed to have seen these Bumper Stickers on Rotary cars:  "Why is the person who invests all of your money called a broker?" - - - Doug Ray, "I killed a six pack . . . just to watch it die." - - - Steve Blair, and "Your kid may be an honor student, but you are an idiot." - - -  Jane Wyen.

ABSENT WERE Matt Brown, Richard Butterly, David Daniels, Steve Dippel, George Elking, Yvonne Hanks, Ken Lambert, Sharon Lewis, David Marks, Bud McBrayer, Don Mellor, John Payton, Bill Peterson, Tom Rodgers, Shep Stahel, Brenda Rogers, Jim Stroup, Don Wilhelmus, Bill Wray and Jane Wyen.

MEMBERSHIP STARTED OFF WITH 52 MEMBERS and has already plummeted to 51 with the demise of Charter Member David McCall [Aturkey-at-Law] whose work has made his membership moot.

PRESIDENT RICHARD BIGGERS called for Oktoberfest reports and got doom and gloom.  Tickets are being printed and will be distributed next week and we need to sell a bunch. Donations of wine are running half of what was done last year. Warner found the perfect breakfast wine that John Roach had been looking for, but the bottle was empty. Judy Jackson was all over everybody at the weakly Oktoberfest meeting last night about everything running behind.

PAST PRESIDENT ROD HOGAN had a little good news from the District Awards Banquet last night that ran from 6:30 - 11 pm.  We were awarded the Perfect Attendance Banner for last year. We missed out on it one year due to Bumbling Ineptitude on the part of the Secretary,  who failed to get our attendance report into the District Secretary in a timely manner. Penelope Pig was most annoyed. Sharon Lewis was recognized for her work as an Assistant District Governor for the past 3 years.  Juergen Mahneke was recognized for the District meetings he hosted at the Bavarian Grill. Also, Plano Sunrise Rotary received the Presidential Citation Award this year.

COLIN LIGHT
asked for help for a Sweat Equity Project on the next several Saturdays.  He has 29 boxes of books to sort and repack for shipment to South Africa.  Meet at the warehouse from 9-11 for work and/or meet at Poor Richard's Cafe for breakfast at 7:30 am.   Sign-up sheets will be circulating.

STEVE BLAIR MEMORIAL GOLF TOURNAMENT
today at 9:30 am at Twin Peaks Golf Course.  Steve had a fine moment with the pink pig for mangling the announcement.  This tournament was postponed two weeks ago due to the rain.  The few that showed up because Steve forgot to call and cancel them,  had a damp time.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by this month's Program Chairthing Doug Ray, was Jason Hanson, Marketing Manager for the PGA Tour Superstores  <LINK>. He was aided by Jack Stevens, the Manager of the Plano Store. They help sponsor pritnear every sporting event in the area and are helping with the Plano Rotary Golf Tournament on September 10th for the benefit scholarships for the Hendrix Academy of Honor <LINK>. Jack and Jason gave out $25 gift cards to everyone present plus eight for Steve Blair's Tournament later today.  As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary school in the name of the speaker and was duly signed by him.  The book was Sports Science <LINK>.

MEETING WAS GONGED TO A CLOSE AT 7:50 am. Early for the third week in a row.
