THE BULLETIN IDITOR IS OUT OF THE COUNTRY on vacation and this bulletin is cobbled together from notes taken by Sharon Lewis and Doug Bicknell. Excellent pictures as usual from Bill Neukranz.
PRE-MEETING MACHINATIONS show Secretary Chris Roach signing people in; Sgt-at-Arms [& ROTOPIG] Doug Cargo drafting the order of the day and faithful servers Ramone and Rene dishing up the food.

LUCKY GUESTS, introduced by Secretary Chris were Robert Posner [Collin Creek Church] guest of Judy Jackson and Michele Focht [Non-Profit] guest of David Marks.

ABSENT WERE Ric Armstrong, Steve Blair, Rick Chron, David Daniels, Reeves Davis, George Elking, Yvonne Hanks, John Payton, Randy Plumlee, Tom Rodgers, Shep Stahel, Jim Stroup, Richard Wells, Jane Wyen, Ray Hopper, Juergen Mahneke, Bud McBrayer, Richard Butterly, Bill Peterson and Terry Dobbins.

SECRETARY CHRIS gave us some pithy sayings in honor of football camp starting this week:  Jim Finks, Saints GM when asked after a loss what he thought of the refs:  "I'm not allowed to comment on lousy officiating."  John Madden: "The road to Easy Street goes through the sewer." Terry Bradshaw: "I may be dumb . . . but I'm not stupid."

BILL WRAY PRESENTED
a banner to the club from his visit to the Snowmass Rotary Club in Aspen, Colorado.  Doug fined Doug for no reason.

PRESIDENT RICHARD
allowed visitor Michelle Focht to tell about the Relief Nursery <LINK>. It is a 501-3c "One Stop Shop" for strengthening high-risk families. They are seeking prospective Board members. David Marks was fined for bringing someone to hustle us.

OKTOBERFEST
: Joyce announced that ticket prices were going up to $35 and would be printed soon.  Warner whined about the shortage of wine to auction and gave departing member Doug Bicknell a "do-it-your-self" wine kit consisting of a bag of grapes.

BOOK DRIVE PROJECT
<LINK> is moving slowly. Colin Light says that we had 29 pallets to repackage and we are now down to 26.  Help is needed on Saturday mornings from 9-11 am at L.B. Showalter's Warehouse which is just across 22nd street behind Tino's Too.
PAST PRESIDENT ROD HOGAN presented Past ADG Sharon Lewis with a new Paul Harris Pin that represented her increased giving to the Rotary Foundation.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by President Richard, was Assistant District Governor Courtenay Tanner.  She was introduced to ROTOPIG and to Danny Morris, who still has a temporary badge. Upcoming activities in the District are: Membership Seminar on Aug 11, Foundation Seminar on August 18, District Conference from October 19-21, 4-Way Speech Contest on  Feb 23, District Assembly on April 19, United Kingdom Adventure from May 12-19 and RYLA from June 8-13. GSE will go to Manchester, England.  Courtenay presented our beloved President with several important documents
and she was reacquainted with ROTOPIG. After suffering through stories and jokes from Past President Rod, a book was donated in her name to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School. The book was "The Important Book"
SGT-AT-ARMS DOUG  took a break from looking for more fine moments.

TODAY WAS DOUG BICKNELL'S final meeting. He and Tammy and baby Libby are moving to Houston, where he will continue to pursue his Civil Engineering career.
