SECRETARY CHRIS gave us some pithy sayings in
honor of football camp starting this week: Jim Finks, Saints GM
when asked after a loss what he thought of the refs: "I'm not
allowed to comment on lousy officiating." John Madden: "The road
to Easy Street goes through the sewer." Terry Bradshaw: "I may be dumb .
. . but I'm not stupid." |

BILL WRAY PRESENTED a banner to the club from
his visit to the Snowmass Rotary Club in Aspen, Colorado. Doug
fined Doug for no reason. |

PRESIDENT RICHARD allowed visitor Michelle Focht to tell about the
Relief Nursery <LINK>. It is
a 501-3c "One Stop Shop" for strengthening high-risk families. They are
seeking prospective Board members. David Marks was fined for bringing
someone to hustle us. |

OKTOBERFEST: Joyce announced that ticket prices were going up to $35
and would be printed soon. Warner whined about the shortage of
wine to auction and gave departing member Doug Bicknell a
"do-it-your-self" wine kit consisting of a bag of grapes. |

BOOK DRIVE PROJECT <LINK> is moving
slowly. Colin Light says that we had 29 pallets to repackage and we are
now down to 26. Help is needed on Saturday mornings from 9-11 am
at L.B. Showalter's Warehouse which is just across 22nd street behind
Tino's Too. |

Sharon Lewis with a new Paul Harris Pin that represented her increased
giving to the Rotary Foundation. |

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by President Richard, was Assistant
District Governor Courtenay Tanner. She was introduced to ROTOPIG and
to Danny Morris, who still has a temporary badge. Upcoming activities
in the District are: Membership Seminar on Aug 11, Foundation Seminar on
August 18, District Conference from October 19-21, 4-Way Speech Contest on Feb 23,
District Assembly on April 19, United Kingdom Adventure from May 12-19 and RYLA
from June
8-13. GSE will go to Manchester, England. Courtenay presented our
beloved President with several important documents

through stories and jokes from Past President Rod, a book was donated in
her name to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary
School. The book was "The Important Book" |

looking for more fine moments. |

TODAY WAS DOUG BICKNELL'S final meeting. He
and Tammy and baby Libby are moving to Houston, where he will continue
to pursue his Civil Engineering career. |
