the Vatican during the past year and will be soon ordained in Dallas.

BLOOD DRIVE CHAIRTHING TOM RODGERS presented the Battle of the
Badges Trophy for 2007 to the Police Department. The trophy went to
the Police Department in 2005 and to the Fire Department in 2006.
TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Joyce Baumbaugh, was Dr. Miné Yücel,
Vice President and Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
She has a B.S and M.S. in Mathematics from Bogazici University in Istanbul,
Turkey and a Ph.D. in economics from Rice University in Houston, Texas.
The national economy is looking better today than even 1 week ago. 4%
growth. 4.5% unemployment. Only glitch: the housing sector is not doing
well. Texas is doing better than the national economy in employment growth. Construction is not good, but is better than the
nation's. A book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David
McCall Elementary School in the name of the speaker and duly signed by her.
The book was "Counting Rhymes".

ANNOUNCEMENTS: Jane Wyen's Husband has had surgery and has been
placed on the kidney transplant list. Mitchell Brooks, Plano
Rotary, underwent heart transplant surgery this week. District
Conference will be held October 19-21 in Richardson. |

Member: Hunter Hanks born July 17th. He weighed 8 lbs, 11oz and was 22"
long. |
