Saturday, September 29th featuring Congressman Sam Johnson.

 |
SECRETARY CHRIS gave some quotes on
insults. Oscar Wilde said: "He has no enemies . . . but is
intensely disliked by his friends!" Mae West said: "His mother
should have thrown him away and kept the stork!" |
ANNOUNCEMENTS ABOUT OKTOBERFEST: President Richard Biggers
showed an ad that was in the "Inside Collin County Business"
Newspaper <LINK>. Joyce
Baumbach went over the Dinner Tickets and the membership package. Doug
Cargo passed around the sign up sheet for job assignments. Colin Light
mentioned the Auction tickets. Chris told about a gift of a cruise
on Lake Lavon on a 36' cabin cruiser for the auction.
DAVID MARKS passed out information on Operation Veterans Support
[OVS] who want to "Make a Difference in a Veteran's Day" by

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Temporary Program Chairthing
Doug Ray, was FOX 4 Reporter Jeff Crilley <LINK>.
Jeff's program was about Positive PR. What it is and how to get
it. He put Sharon in charge of the gum rewards and played old TV tunes
to see who could remember them. Some people have spent entirely too much
time in front of the TV.
PRESS RELEASES don't work. Channel 4 receives 2000 a day,
1500 by email. They are like soap bubbles. The room was filled
with soap bubbles to illustrate the premise.
As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library
at the David McCall Elementary school in Jeff's name and duly signed by
him. The book was "A Word to the Wise and Other Proverbs" by
Johanna Hurwitz <LINK>.
