PRESIDENT RICHARD II asked Sgt-at-Arms Doug to fine Richard I for a really bad joke.  Clean but bad.  Richard didn't have any quarters and visiting Rotarian Lee Dunlap paid his two-bit fine.

VISITING ROTARIAN, introduced by Secretary Chris, was Lee Dunlap [Architect] from the Plano Rotary Club.

LUCKY GUEST was Jennifer Smith [Auto Loans] from GMAC.  She was the guest of Eric Hartter [Automobiles] from Huffines Autos, but she was sitting with Bud McBrayer.  When the Sgt-at-Arms asked Eric, why his guest was NOT sitting with him, Jennifer patted Bud on the shoulder and said that she had traded Eric in for an older model.  ROTOPIG Jr. had a fine moment with Jennifer.

ABSENT WERE Steve Blair, Matt Brown, Rich Chron, Reeves Davis, Steve Dippel, Yvonne Hanks, John Payton, Bill Peterson, Doug Ray, John Roach, Michelle Robbins, Tom Rodgers, Brenda Rogers, Don Wilhelmus and Bill Wray.

SECRETARY CHRIS passed out some overdue Perfect Attendance pins to David Marks - 1 year, Scott Villines and Juergen Mahneke - 3 years, Paul Huang - 4 years, Randy Plumlee, Shep Stahel, David Daniels and Greg Rushin - 5 years, Jane Wyen and Pat Hite - 6 years and Don Mellor and Judy Jackson - 7 years.

SECRETARY CHRIS
noted the Top Halloween Sunrise Rotarian Movies:
"Night of the Living Dead" - Story of the Tuesday night after Oktoberfest starring auction Chairman, Judy Jackson.
"The Thing" - starring the pink & green item served by Rene and Ramone today.
"The Silence of the Lambs" - Depicting the traumatic experience that occurred to poor ROTOPIG this year at the State Fair.
"Scream!" - Behind the scenes look at what happens each year on July 1 starring our new club President.
"Hellraiser" - 2nd billing of double feature that goes with scream on July 1, staring the old, outgoing President.
"Dawn of the Dead" - This is an ongoing serial, starring the entire cast of Plano Sunrise Rotary Club, every Friday morning, around 7:00 am.

DAVID MARKS
reported that  SSgt McDonald (Army Recruiter) and LCpl Jacob Hayes (Marine Combat Veteran / Operation Iraqi Freedom) went to McCall Elementary School on Wed, Oct 10th to collect cards the 4th and 5th graders made for injured veterans.  This is part of the Rotary OVS / Operation Veterans Support / District project for injured veterans at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio.  <LINK>  He also reported on Operation "Home Away from Home",  which is collecting items to ship to troops in combat zones.  Click <HERE> to see the flyer.

PRESIDENT RICHARD auctioned off several items leftover from Oktoberfest.

PAST PRESIDENT RICHARD BUTTERLY read an Open Letter from ROTOPIG to the Plano Sunrise Rotary Club. Click <HERE> to read the letter. Richard reported that ROTOPIG had been cleaned out, sanitized, fitted with new shoes, a new bow tie and a "lost & found" tag giving instructions should he ever be misplaced again.  Furthermore,  he had a complete makeover in keeping with Halloween.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by temporary Program Chairthing Pat Hite was Vietnam Veteran Allen Clark, who lost both legs below the knee in 1968.  Allen said: "I believe Jesus allowed me to be saved from my battlefield wounds to return and be able to live my life again.  I now know He was there and with me through all my recovery and rehabilitation which continues even today as I seek to follow Him in all my ways.  I have accepted Him as Savior, know I live only by the grace of God, and have studied intently about spiritual warfare and healing.  My website <LINK> is devoted to expressing what I have learned to help my fellow veterans begin their walk of faith down the path to healing." Last summer, he read "EPICENTER" by Joel Rosenberg <LINK> and is now seeking to warn people about the Jihadist Threat to America. As is our custom a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School in Allen's name and duly signed by him.  The book was "Mercedes and the Chocolate Pilot, a true story of the Berlin Airlift and the candy that dropped from the sky" <LINK>.
