VISITING ROTARIANS, introduced by Secretary Chris, were Doyle Dean [Education-Sr. High] from the Plano Rotary Club, Charles Wolford a new member from Plano Rotary who didn't know his classification <LINK> [possibly  "Emergency Shelters" or "Family Centers"], and  Harry Polly [Small Business Banking] also from the Plano Rotary Club.

ABSENT WERE David Daniels, Reeves Davis, Steve Dippel, Yvonne Hanks, Ken Lambert, David Marks, Don Mellor, John Roach, Brenda Rogers, Michelle Robbins, Greg Rushin, Richard Wells and Jane Wyen.

IN HONOR OF OUR FAIRER SUNRISE ROTARIANS:  According to the Alaska Dept. of Fish & Game, Both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer, but male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter.  Female reindeer retain theirs till after they give birth in the Spring.

Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a girl.

We should have known . . . ONLY women would be able to drag a fat man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night and not get lost.

RICHARD the 2nd gave the word and Richard the 1st got the word.  Bring new coats of any size for Christmas Cops to give to needy children.

SGT-AT-ARMS DOUG CARGO and ROTOPIG were quite active and had many fine moments. Richard the 1st was fined for his Joke that men are like parking places.  The good ones are taken and the rest are handicapped.

BECOME A ROTOPIG FELLOW
by donating $100 to the Pig Fund and in addition to the nifty Pig Pin for your shirt [next to your Rotary Pin or Paul Harris Pin], you will receive a ROTOPIG Keychain that lights up and OINKS. The Pig Fund is used for small local projects at the quick direction of the BOD. Recently moneys were spent on postage for packages to US troops overseas. If you don't want to give $100 in one lump, you can do $25/ quarter and become a Sustaining ROTOPIG Fellow. Multiple Pig Fellows receive multiple Pig Pins.

PAST PRESIDENT RICHARD THE 1ST
reported that on Thanksgiving Day, more than 1550 people were fed free meals from Poor Richard's Cafe <LINK>. This was accomplished with 60 "in-house" volunteers, 60 "out-house" volunteers and 30 committee members, who met regularly for many weeks before. About half of the meals were delivered with the help of off-duty police from Plano, Allen, McKinney and Wylie.

RUDELY LEAVING EARLY at 7:27 am were Poor Richard Butterly and Poor Judge John Payton.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Vocational Service Director Warner Richeson, was Harry Polly, who told us about the recent Camp Enterprise which hosted 100 students from 25 schools around the MetroPlex.  Harry has been doing Camp Enterprise for 19 out of it's 25 years introducing students to the free enterprise system.  Courtney Hazlet and David Turning are students from Plano East Senior High that we sponsored this year. As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School in the speakers' names and duly signed by each of them.  The book was "Camp Granada"  <LINK> and President Richard was soundly fined for calling it "Camp Grandpa" [Our resident Optometrist] offered his services].

LATE ANNOUNCEMENTS from President-Elect and Oktoberfest Chairthing Randy Plumlee about our large donation to the Assistance Center for it's 30 year anniversary on Wednesday and from George Elking about Christmas Cops needing help on the 13th picking up the toy collection boxes, sorting them and delivering toys and baskets on the 22nd.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS NEXT WEEK.  Bring your hanging chad.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS MET after the  meeting.  Present were Richard Biggers, Rick Chron, Randy Plumlee, Sharon Lewis, Doug Cargo, George Elkins, Steve Blair, Warner Richeson, Tom Rodgers, Joyce Baumbach, Rod Hogan, Pat Hite, Chris Roach, Colin Light, Doug Ray, Juergen Mahneke, Ray Hopper, Scott Villines and Terry Dobbins.
Membership plummeted again with the resignation of Bill Wray [Attorney] for personal business reasons.  He's now a moot point. That leaves us at 51 with none in process.  $500 was donated to the Williams fund from the Pig Fund and members will have the opportunity to match to help this family.
