RAMONE AND RENE get everyone lined up for breakfast so President Richard the 2nd can tell us about the new ROTOPIG key chain that lights up and "OINKS" for new ROTOPIG Fellows.


SGT-AT-ARMS DOUG CARGO
fined Don for his insurance joke and then passed out Secret Ballots for the Election of Officers and Directors for the Rotary year beginning July 1, 2008.

PRESIDENT RICHARD 2nd explained the ballot and left everyone to vote during the meeting.

ABSENT WERE Steve Blair, Richard Butterly, Reeves Davis, Ray Hopper, Judy Jackson, Ken Lambert, Sharon Lewis, Bill Peterson, Doug Ray, Chris Roach, John Roach, Roach Roach, Greg Rushin and Don Wilhelmus.

CHRISTMAS COPS will need help on the 15th to pick up the toy collection boxes. Then the toys will be sorted with the food into individual family packets for delivery on the 22nd.  Rick Chron passed out sign up sheets.  Volunteers will meet at the warehouse on 10th street at 8am.


CITY COUNCIL PERSON SHEP STAHEL presented a plaque to Plano Sunrise Rotary  from the Christmas Cops for the work we did last year helping them help 185 families and 700 children.

DAVID MARKS reported that Rotary OVS [Operation Veteran Support]  collected 2500 Cards and $3000 for gifts for veterans at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio <LINK>.

, President Richard declared the nominees elected by acclamation.  There were a few write in votes but nothing serious.  Elected to the Board, taking office July 1, 2008, were:

VISITING ROTARIANS, introduced by Secretary of the Day Pat Hite, were Brad Keith [incorrectly classified as Senior Active] from the Plano Rotary Club, Charles Wolford [incorrectly classified as a new member] also from the Plano Rotary Club and Gerald Montgomery [Retail] from the Park Cities Rotary Club.

LUCKY VISITORS were Chuck Presley guest of John Payton, Mark Rhodes guest of Pat Hite, Steve Dippel,  member, Hunter Hanks, Honorary baby Member.  John Payton was seen rudely leaving early at 7:34 am CST with a bottle of sauce in his hand.


DISTRICT 5810 BLOOD DRIVE CHAIRTHING
George Elking reported that we were #1 in the District with 955 pints of blood credited to us out of the 4450 total collected so far this year.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Bud McBrayer, were Dick Taylor, Executive Director for "Habitat for Humanity" of South Collin County <LINK> and Dan O'Hara, Vice President. They updated us on the group's projects and activities and invited us to the gala on Feb 10th. As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School in the speakers' names and duly signed by each of them.  The book was "Home To Me, Home To You" by Jennifer Ericsson <LINK>.
