NO PROGRAM TODAY
.  Instead a Club Assembly was called by President Richard II for reports to the club from the Officers, Directors and Committee Chairs.

SGT-AT-ARMS DOUG CARGO thought John Roach's joke was so "bad" that he paid a two-bit fine to ROTOPIG for John.

SECRETARY-ELECT PAT HITE is still filling in for Secretary Chris, who is in Abilene dealing with his father's health.

VISITING ROTARIANS, introduced by Pat, were Gerald Montgomery [Retail] from the Park Cities Rotary Club, John Von Runnen [Marketing] from the Plano Metro Rotary, Alice Hobbs [Symphony] from the Plano Rotary Club and City Manager Tom Muehlenbeck [Tourist] also from the Plano Rotary Club.

ABSENT WERE Steve Dippel, Judy Jackson, Juergen Mahneke, Bud McBrayer, Don Mellor, John Payton, Doug Ray, Brenda Rogers and Greg Rushin.

CITY MANAGER TOM MUEHLENBECK reported that our own Greg Rushin was recovering well from surgery, but Tom was fined anyway for not wearing a Rotary pin.

GUESTS
, introduced by Secretary elect Pat Hite, were Hunter Hanks, guest of Mom, Bernadet Wang, guest of George Elwell and Mark Rhodes, guest of Pat Hite.

PLANO METRO ROTARY
21st Annual Mardi Gras Night Fundraiser, Saturday, Feb 23rd from 6:30-11 pm at Glen Eagles Country Club. John Von Runnen was here from there to promote the event and had tickets available, but our own Sharon Lewis also had tickets available and urged us to buy from her. In any case, support the event.  The money goes for their good causes and they support our Oktoberfest.

PRESIDENT RICHARD II read a complimentary letter from the Assistance Center <LINK> thanking us for our contribution from the Oktoberfest Funds.

NEW MEMBER JENNIFER SMITH is doing an excellent job updating our banner collection, but got fined anyway for something.

BLOOD DRIVE CHAIRTHING
Tom Rodgers is pleased with the signups for the Blood drive at Collin Creek Mall on Saturday and Sunday, Jan 19-20 from 10am-6pm.  All four Plano clubs are participating. He warned us about the annual CCCCD blood drive on Feb 13th at various campuses and the Battle of the Badges coming up in July with the kickoff at the 4th of July Parade.

POOR RICHARD I had trouble with the flag falling over on him.  Richard II caught it but Richard I finally had to move it over out of reach.
HARD WORKING RICK CHRON was honored with a Paul Harris Fellow donated in his name by the club. He is there for every project and often supplies machines and manpower as needed.

PROPOSED FOR MEMBERSHIP and approved for publication and publicized is Mark Rhodes. His classification will be Higher Education as he works at SMU as Director of Access and Parking. He was sponsored by Treasurer-Secretary-Elect Pat Hite and will be inducted in a moving candlelight ceremony sans harp music as soon as our beloved President the Second can get it all together.

PRESIDENT RICHARD II called for reports. President-Elect Randy reported nothing. Treasurer and Secretary Elect Pat Hite, with the help of bookkeeper Colin Light, reported that some money had come in, some money had gone out and some money was left over and there were 50 members with one new member ready for induction. Community Service Director Rick Chron is looking for an inside paint job for us during the winter weather. Vocational Director Warner Richeson warned us of the 4-Way Speech Contest next week. International Director Colin light noted how our $6000 dollar donation with various matching grants had blossomed into $32,000 and was providing for 3 water wells in Kenya.  Also, we still have 23 pallets of books awaiting transportation to Houston for shipping to South Africa. Club Service Director Scott Villines noted that a blank banner had been received and soon would have numerous smaller banners sewn on it.  Also mug shots of new and old members have been scheduled for before and after the meeting of Feb 15th by photographer Bill Neukranz. Public Relations Director Sharon Lewis said that all was going well.
