SECRETARY ELECT PAT HITE had no Visiting Rotarians or guests to introduce except for one member-in-waiting, Mark Rhodes.  He is anxiously awaiting installation whenever our beloved President can get the act together. Mark has been published and approved for the Classification of Higher Education.  He is the director of Access at SMU and is sponsored by Pat Hite, also of SMU.

PRESIDENT RICHARD CALLED FOR ANNOUNCEMENTS.  Blood Drive Chairthing Tom Rodgers reminded us of the CCCCD tri-campus blood drive on Wednesday, Feb 13.  He needs some volunteers from 1-4pm at the Spring Creek Campus.  Sharon Lewis has some tickets to sell for the Plano Metro Rotary  21st Annual Mardi Gras Night Fundraiser, Saturday, Feb 23rd from 6:30-11 pm at Glen Eagles Country Club. President Richard II had a fine moment with ROTOPIG.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by 1st quarter Program Chairman Michelle Robbins, was  Gloria Cockerell from the Collin County Community College.  She told us about the new International Business Degree Program, which is a work course degree. Texas exports in 2006 were $150.8 Billion dollars.  The top five exports are Computers and Electronic Equipment, Chemicals, Machinery, Transportation Equipment and Petroleum Products.  The top five business partners are Canada, Mexico, China, Korea and the Netherlands. As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School in the speakers' name and duly signed by her.  The book was "Biscuit Goes to School" by  Alyssa Satin Capucilli <LINK>.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS met at 8 am after the meeting.  Officers and Directors present were Richard Biggers, Rick Chron, Pat Hite, Randy Plumlee, Colin Light, Sharon Lewis, Doug Cargo, Scott Villines, Warner Richeson, Rod Hogan and Terry Dobbins.

Making up were George Elking, Danny Morris, Bud McBrayer, Bill Moore, Juergen Mahneke, Richard Wells, John Roach, Judy Jackson and Ray Hopper. Absent was Membership Chairthing Joyce Baumbach.

Treasurer reported that some money had come in, some money had gone out and there was some left over. $500 was voted out of ROTOPIG Fund for the PISD Deaf program with matching funds to be sought from the membership.  We might hear from contested City and School Board races for a program later. The multitude of books collected and boxed for South Africa will soon have a ride to Houston along with some from Cedar Hill Rotary.
