TIME CHANGE THIS WEEKEND
, three weeks earlier than usual. Regular folks set your clocks FORWARD an hour sometime Saturday night or Sunday Morning March 9. Military Types like Reeves Davis, arise at 0200 Sunday Morning, March 9th, set your clocks forward to 0300 and re-retire.  Aggies: call your mother.

FAITHFUL SERVER RENE dishes up breakfast so that President Richard the 2nd can be ready to take control of the meeting.

SECRETARY-ELECT PAT HITE introduced visiting Rotarian Karl Voigtsberger [Engineering] from the Plano West Rotary and Honorary member Hunter Hanks.

SGT-ST-ARMS DOUG CARGO AND ROTOPIG had a fine moment with Secretary-Elect Pat Hite.

ABSENT WERE Joyce Baumbach, Matt Brown, Rick Chron, David Daniels, Steve Dippel, George Elwell,  Juergen Mahneke, John Payton, Bill Peterson, Randy Plumlee, Greg Rushin, Jennifer Smith, Richard Wells, Don Wilhelmus and Mark Rhodes.

PAST-PRESIDENT ROD HOGAN filled in for Community Service Director Rick Chron and passed out sign-up sheets for two Saturday mornings from 8-12 on March 1 and March 29 helping Medisend <LINK> package up medicines for shipment to Bangladesh. He also announced that the 1st Oktoberfest 2008 meeting would be Thursday, March 6 at 5:30 pm at the Bavarian Grill, weather permitting.
DAVID MARKS announced that Rotary OVS [Operation Veteran Support] would be meeting the troops at DFW this Saturday.  He will send out an email on the details.

PAT HITE politely left early at 7:30 am.  He had notified the president, apologized to the speaker and paid a fine to ROTOPIG.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by 1st Qtr Program chairman Michelle Robbins, was a report by  Dwight Riskey and Gerry Weis from the Collin County Adult Clinic <LINK>. We helped with some funds in 2006.   Respecting human dignity, health and welfare, CCAC, a faith-based clinic staffed by volunteers from the community and area churches, will provide limited healthcare and medications to Collin County adult residents who have little or no access to traditional medical services. As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School and duly signed by the speaker.

STEVE BLAIR
reported on the Hendrick Academy of Honor <LINK> "EVENT"  held last week. Over 250 people attended.  The 1st recipient of a scholarship was 17 years ago and was present to tell their story.  "Taste of Plano" has been a large fundraiser but there is no event this year and it may go away. Currently 65 students are being supported.
POOR RICHARD'S CAFE  will be catering the breakfast next week in honor of Nellie McCall's Birthday. The Library Books that we have been accumulating for the last year will be presented.
