GUESTS AND VISITING ROTARIANS, introduced by Secretary-Elect Past Hite, were Luis Crespo [Business Insultant] from the Dallas Evening Rotary Club and the retired Gordon Beach, guest of Warner Richeson.  Special Guest was our Honorary Member Hunter Hanks, who talked a lot, but didn't say much.

ABSENT WERE  Steve Blair, Matt Brown, Richard Butterly, David Daniels, Reeves Davis, George Elking, Judy Jackson, Sharon Lewis, Juergen Mahneke, John Payton, Bill Peterson, Randy Plumlee, Doug Ray, Brenda Rogers and Shep Stahel.

COMMUNITY SERVICE DIRECTOR, Rick Chron needed a few more volunteers for the Medisend <LINK> project in the morning.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Program Chairman Michelle Robbins, was Judy Impiccini from  MADD <LINK>. Mothers Against Drunk Driving {MADD} has a three part program:  to stop drunk driving, to support the victims of alcohol crashes and to prevent underage drinking.  There is a drunk crash once every 30 minutes and in 2006, there were 17,500 alcohol related deaths. As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School and duly signed by the speaker. The book was titled "Smash, Mash, Crash".

 

A STAND UP BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING was held right after the regular meeting. Proposed for membership and approved for publication was Becky Perry.   Becky is an Associate Executive Director at Plano Sunrise Senior Living <LINK> at Parker & Preston. She is sponsored by Brenda Rogers and will be loaned the classification of "Senior Living".
