FAITHFUL SERVER RENE is ready to dish up breakfast. Colin is counting the money. Ex-city council person Shep Stahel gives new city councilman Mabrie Jackson some advice and Richard I gives Richard II some pointers on his upcoming role as Past President.

LAME DUCK PRESIDENT RICHARD II
has a fine moment with ROTOPIG before he plugs "Outdoor Weeks" for Oktoberfest Auction Items.

INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS for the Rotary year beginning July 1, 2008 will be Thursday night, June 26th, 2008 at 6:30 pm right here at Tino's Too.  Sign up and let Richard II know how many guests you will be bringing.  No meeting Friday morning, June 27th as it is moved to the installation.  Someone will be there to give Visiting Rotarians a makeup slip.

BLOOD DRIVE CHAIRTHING [for 3 more weeks] TOM RODGERS passed out sign up sheets for the College Challenge on June 24th and for the July 4th parade and for the Battle of the Badges the week after.

PR PERSON SHARON LEWIS told us about a City House <LINK> event on June 13th at Chase Oaks Church on Legacy Drive presenting Jim Stovall, author of The Ultimate Gift <LINK>.  The book is great and the movie is wonderful. Sharon was fined for momentarily placing the church in Richardson instead of Plano

GEORGE ELKING said that we need ideas for the float we have in the 4th of July Parade.  David Marks was fined for a ridiculous idea of a live Statute of Liberty featuring club members.

KEN LAMBERT reported that roving member Glen Justice wanted us to know that the temperature in Estes Park, Colorado was 34° F. Steve Dippel was fined for being well dressed.

VISITING ROTARIAN
and Guest, introduced by Secretary Pat Hite were County Judge Keith Self [Retired Military] and Honorary Member Hunter Hanks. Keith had a fine moment with a plastic pig and Hunter had a fine moment with a plastic toy.

DAVID MARKS introduced Marine son Michael, who is home for 2 weeks R&R,  and then back to Iraq for 7 months.  Michael got a standing ovation and David got a fine from ROTOPIG.

ABSENT WERE Matt Brown, Rick Chron, David Daniels, George Elwell, Eric Hartter, Rod Hogan, Juergen Mahneke, Bud McBrayer, Danny Morris, John Payton, John Roach, Brenda Rogers and Greg Rushin.

KEN LAMBERT POLITELY LEFT EARLY AT 7:33 PM.

INDUCTED IN A MOVING CANDLELIGHT CEREMONY, sans Harp Music, but with TWO bubbleers blowing bubbles were Art Papathanasiou [Insurance] from NY Life, Mabrie Jackson [Software] from Microsoft, and Gordon Beach [Hardware Stores] from Paddington Gatewood. They are all sponsored by Judy Jackson. And for the first time, new members were presented with temporary badges.  Missing out on the moving candlelight ceremony was Russel Head [Energy] from Green Mountain.  He doesn't have to make up since he is not yet a member.  Better get Penelope Pig ready for a new home.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Acting Program Chairthing Michelle Robbins, was  Catherine Cuellar, Managing Editor of Pegasus News <LINK>.  She worked for 10 years in the traditional media and started the Guide Live section in the Dallas Morning News before going all digital.  Pegasus News was started in December 2006 and is only on the Internet. It has 300,000 unique visitors.  They want to be timely, relevant and accurate covering local news in hundreds of communities in Dallas, Denton, Tarrant and Collin Counties. Your personal experience on PegasusNews.com can be customized to the community you live in and what you surf.  As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School in honor of the speaker and duly signed by her.  The book was Johann Gutenberg and the Amazing Printing Press. <LINK>
