INSTALLATION OF OFFICERS AND DIRECTORS for the Rotary year beginning July 1, 2008 will be Thursday night, June 26th, 2008 at 6:30 pm right here at Tino's Too.  Sign up and let Richard II know how many guests you will be bringing.  No meeting Friday morning, June 27th as it is moved to the installation.  Someone will be there to give Visiting Rotarians a makeup slip.  Rumors are that the District 5810 installation of our neighbor L.B. Showalter as District Governor is at an undisclosed location the same night. Our own George Elking is one of four nominated for the award of "Rotarian of the Year".

SGT-AT-ARMS DOUG CARGO, fined both President Richard the 2nd for malfeasance in Office and District 5810 Blood Drive Chairthing George Elking for crimes against humanity.

GOLF CHAIRPERSON Steve Blair finalized the lineup for the Annual Golf Outing on Friday, June 27th. He has tee times at 9:24, 9:32 and 9:40 am at Twin Creeks.  Fee is $30 and and there is still time to sign up with the dirty dozen already there.
ASSISTANT CITY MANAGER Rod Hogan brought back a banner from a junket to a breakfast club in North Carolina, where visitors almost outnumbered members.

OUR BLOOD DRIVE CHAIRTHING [for 3 more weeks] TOM RODGERS passed out sign up sheets for the College Challenge on June 24th and for the July 4th parade and for the Battle of the Badges the week after.
PRESIDENT RICHARD II had another fine moment with ROTOPIG for mangling the Oktoberfest announcements.

OUTGOING BLOOD DRIVE CHAIRPERSON Tom Rodgers was honored with a book donated to the the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School.  He signed the book which was "A Drop of Blood" by Paul Showers. <LINK>

POLITELY LEAVING EARLY was Librarian Joyce Baumbach. She had notified the President, apologized to the speaker and given two-bits to ROTOPIG.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Acting Program Chairthing Michelle Robbins, was Charles Wolford, Executive Director of City House <LINK>. City House opened 19 years ago for teens in crisis. Charles detailed the plans for "My Friends House"  <LINK>, which will provide a short term shelter for newborns to 9 year olds. As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School in honor of the speaker and duly signed by him.  The book was "That's What Friends Do" by Kathryn Cave <LINK>.
