THERE WERE NO GUESTS AND NO VISITING ROTARIANS to be introduced by Secretary Joyce Baumbach. She did award an 8-yr Perfect Attendance pin to Photographer Bill Neukranz, who had to pose on the other side of the camera for a change. Joyce auctioned off a set of car keys to Bud McBrayer, so that he could drive home. And finally, she let us off with a long humorous story about the family dog.
ABSENT WERE Richard Biggers, Matt Brown, David Daniels, Russel Head, Ken Lambert, Juergen Mahneke, Danny Morris, John Payton, Mark Rhodes, John Roach, Tom Rodgers, Brenda Rogers, Jennifer Smith, Shep Stahel and Don Wilhelmus. CHECKOUT CLUBRUNNER on the District 5810 website. <LINK> It's great! Everyone can keep their own information updated and it's a central repository for all club information that several people can update. We can even get rid of the WEAKly bulletin and the periodic publication of the roster. BATTLE OF THE BADGES BLOOD DRIVE is over for this year and was successful. There will be an awards ceremony and presentation of the trophy at the Meeting on August 1st. ADOPTION AWARENESS PICNIC on September 20th needs some sweat equity help from us. PUZZLE OF THE WEEK. Treasurer Yvonne Hanks will give a $20 bill to the first five people who get the right answer. What do these words have in common: Banana, Dresser, Grammar, Potato, Revive, Uneven, Assess?
TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Program Chairthing David Marks, was our Assistant District Governor Courtenay Tanner. The last time she visited, May 2, 2008 <LINK> she fell and broke a hand bone and a cheekbone and no one knew about it until much later. Other than that she enjoys her visits. President Randy was 1 of 6 club presidents who submitted their Planning Guide on Time. Sharon Lewis is trying to manage the 12 ADGs for the District. There is a Foundation Seminar on August 23rd. <LINK> Some club will get a $100k donation for the best Business Plan for a Community Project. Plan is to be submitted in January and will be awarded April 19 at the District Meeting in Frisco. As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School in the speakers name and duly signed by her. The Book was "Princess Stories from Around the World by Kate Tym". <LINK>
