FAITHFUL BREAKFAST SERVER RENE is ready to dish up the food as Shep Stahel tries to bring in some Bud Light for the wine collection.  Sgt-at-Arms Scott Villines was absent leaving President Randy and ROTOPIG to confront those arriving a few seconds after 7:00:00.0 am.

 

SHEP STAHEL was able to discern that Paul Huang had the absent Rod Hogan's badge on.  Past President Richard Butterly jumped right in to introduce Paul to his own badge and help get everything straightened out.

 

VISITING ROTARIAN AND GUESTS, introduced by Secretary Joyce, were Boyd Craig [HVAC] from the Plano Rotary Club, and proposed member Vickie McClurg [Real Estate] guest of the absent Brenda Rogers and former member Deb Burdick [Edward Jones & Co.] guest of Joyce Baumbach.

PRESIDENT RANDY found a few announcements. No book project workday this Saturday. Annual Plano Rotary Golf Tournament  for the benefit of the  Hendrick Academy of Honor will be Monday,  September 15th at  Heritage Ranch Golf beginning with lunch at noon and shotgun start at 1 pm. We are sponsoring 2 students to Camp Enterprise  Sept 19-20. Plano Chamber of Commerce Annual Luncheon, Thursday, September 25th where our own Richard Butterly will be awarded the Small Business Person of the Year Award. We will sponsor a table of 10 @ $25 each and members attending will reimburse the club. Oktoberfest needs items this week for Spa and Beauty Gift Certificates.

CLASSIFICATION TALK BY ROBERT POSNER [Minister]. He reminds us that we are not here for ourselves, but to help others. Each year he takes a group to Cuba to teach and take supplies. Health care is abominable. The biggest need is food.  The crops have been washed out by hurricanes. His group leaves this Wednesday.
 

WARNER RICHESON modeled the new PSR golf shirt soon available for ordering and then left at 7:50 am. The logo and name are on the right sleeve instead of the chest pocket.

TODAY'S PROGRAM was Meg Mueller from Adventure Scuba who takes groups all over the world to dive. It is a male dominated sport, but WAMD [Women Against Male Domination] will soon take care of that. Scuba gear improved in the late 40's due to the machinations of Jacques Cousteau. It takes two weekends to get certified and the cost is $500.
