FAITHFUL SERVER RENE dished up a fine Mexican breakfast to all including the late arriving Ken Maun who tip-toed in at 7:21:09 am.

ACTING SGT-AT-ARMS
Douglas L. Ray collected some two-bit fines from some ladies for crimes against humanity.  Sharon Lewis for something and Jennifer Smith for passing her joke responsibilities to Richard Wells.

VISITING ROTARIAN
, introduced by Secretary Joyce, was the late Ken Maun [Tax Assessor-Collector] from the Plano Metro Rotary Club. Joyce also circulated a sign-up sheet for workers for Thanksgiving at Poor Richard's Cafe where we will be serving dinner for the less fortunate and delivering a Thanksgiving meal to the Meals on Wheels recipients in Plano, Allen and Wylie.

ABSENT WERE Richard Biggers, Richard Butterly, Doug Cargo, Rick Chron, David Daniels, Ronnie Day, Steve Dippel, George Elking, Eris Hartter, Mabrie Jackson, Ken Lambert, Juergen Mahneke, Bud McBrayer, Vickie McClurg, Bill Moore, Art Papathanasiou, John Payton, Warner Richeson, John Roach, Michelle Robbins, Tom Rodgers, Brenda Rogers, Scott Villines and Don Wilhelmus.

PRESIDENT RANDY had a few announcements about the recent successful Oktoberfest at the Bavarian Grill. There were 469 meal tickets sold out of 521 meals served.  Most auction items sold and the gross revenues should be about the same as last year.  More details to follow in the coming weeks.  Colin Light asked for volunteers for a District 5810 Horse Show at Los Colinas tomorrow.

INDUCTED IN A MOVING CANDLELIGHT CEREMONY
complete with soap bubbles but sans Harp music was former member Jane Wyen.  She now works for the Plano Symphony Orchestra and has been loaned the Classification of Music.  She was sponsored by Judy Jackson.

CHIEF GREG RUSHIN RUSHED OUT at 7:44:03 am dressed in his finest uniform heading for a speaking engagement. It is not known if he politely left early by notifying the President, apologizing to the speaker and giving two-bits to ROTOPIG or if he rudely left early by just ducking out when the photographer wasn't looking.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Program Chairthing David Marks, was Dr. Jeffrey Canose soon to be President of  Presbyterian Hospital of Plano. The current President, Philip M. Wentworth  will retire in 2009 after 38 years in health care management. Presbyterian Hospital of Plano, a member of Texas Health Resources, is a not-for-profit, faith-based health care facility located at West Parker Road and North Dallas Tollway in Plano. Opened in 1991, it now has 368 beds, 1200 staff, 1500 full time employees, $300 million a year in revenue, a 96% satisfaction rating and serves award winning 5-star Cuisine food.  They will be changing their name and logo after the first of the year to Texas Health Presbyterian. As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School in the name of the speaker and signed by him.   The book was "Germs" by Ross Collins. Appearing as part of the program to hand out brochures but never introduced was Jim Boswell, Administrative Director/Physician Services.

YESTERDAY WAS NATIONAL MOLE DAY. Mole Day is an unofficial holiday celebrated among chemists in North America on October 23rd from 6:02 am and 6:02 pm, making the date 6:02 10/23 in the American style of writing dates.  The time and the date are derived from the Avogadro Constant, which is approximately 6.02 x 1023  particles [atoms or molecules] in a mole, one of the seven base SI units.

TIME CHANGE  NEXT WEEKEND. Regular folks set your clocks BACK an hour sometime Saturday night or Sunday Morning, November 2nd. Military Types like Reeves Davis, arise at 0200 Sunday Morning, November 2nd, set your clocks backward to 0100 and re-retire.  Aggies: call your mother.
