Rod noted that November was Rotary Foundation Month and there will be two speakers from the District.  Dave Marks asked us to join the Relief Nursery of Collin County for a Dog Wash on Saturday, November 8th from 9am-1 pm at the Sudapup Dog Wash at Spring Creek and Custer.

CLASSIFICATION TALK was by Art Papathanasiou [Insurance].  Art is known as Art WHO? and works for New York Life and deals in all kinds of Insurance. New York Life is not caught up in all the economic mess that has ravaged a lot of other companies. Their losses have been way less than 1%.
OKTOBERFEST CO-CHAIRTHING Richard Biggers auctioned off some left over items and will have a few more next week.

CITY COUNCIL PERSON Lee Dunlap told us about the dedication of the Veteran's Memorial on November 11, 2008 at 9:30 am.

ROBERT POSNER
[minister] told about his recent trip to Cuba, taking money and support to Hurricane Victims.  It is a trip that is legal by the U.S. laws and legal by Cuban laws, but for the first time in 18 years their group was turned back at the Havana Airport and the four of them were promptly put on an outbound airplane.  No explanation given.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Program Chairthing David Marks, were the students we sponsored to RYLA. They were Eric Wong and Alyssa Zarro who are 12th graders in Plano. As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School in the name of the speaker and signed by them.   The book was "Monster Stew" by Patricia Rae Wolff.

RUDELY LEAVING EARLY at 7:46:32 am was Warner Richeson.

SERVICE ABOVE SELF, [actually service above windows] is performed weekly by Scott Villines and Bill Moore who are part of the team setting up and taking down for the meeting.
