FAITHFUL SERVER RENE dishes up tater tots to Past President Richard Biggers as Sgt-at-Arms Scott Villines and ROTOPIG look for more victims.

VISITING ROTARIANS AND GUESTS
, introduced by Secretary Joyce Baumbach, were Walter Meyer [Swimming Pool Construction] from the Plano Rotary Club, Music Man Jerry Cline, guest of Warner Richeson and Student Dustin Kolb guest of Judge John Payton. Jerry was here to evaluate our unsound sound system and see if we could afford an alternate.

ABSENT WERE David Daniels, Ronnie Day, Rod Hogan, Ray Hopper, Bill Peterson, Brenda Rogers and Greg Rushin.

PRESIDENT RANDY found a few announcements.  Winners of the Oktoberfest Raffle were Paul Poelker - Trip to Germany and Ken Leyerle -Dinner for a herd at the Bavarian Grill.  Bill Moore has four pallets of books left to be repacked and is looking for volunteers Saturday morning from 9-11 am to finish up the job.

Blood Drive Chairthing Jennifer Smith needs workers on Wednesday, Nov 12 for the CCCCD campuses.  Richard Butterly reports that he expects to serve 1700-1800 meals on Thanksgiving from Poor Richard's Cafe to the less fortunate. About 1000 of these will be delivered by Plano, Allen and McKinney police and the Sherriff's Department, both bulk deliveries and to the "Meals on Wheels" routes. More than 200 volunteers will make all this possible.

CLASSIFICATION TALK by Ken Lambert [Land Development]. Business is slow so Ken gave us his life history.

RUDELY ARRIVING LATE was Ken Maun [Tax-Assessor Collector] from Plano Metro Rotary Club just as Bob Warren was politely leaving early to attend a meeting in Irving.

INDUCTED IN A MOVING CANDLELIGHT CEREMONY
sans Harp Music was Diana Kolb. Beautiful bubbles drifted overhead and onto Don Mellor's head.  Diana works for Secure Cam, Inc. and has been loaned the classification of Surveillance Systems.  She was proposed by George Elking. Sgt-at-Arms Scott and ROTOPIG collected from her the first official two-bit fine.

TODAY'S PROGRAM, introduced by Program Chairthing David Marks, was District 5810 Rotary Foundation Chairperson Greg Pape who reported that polio has been eliminated from the world except for pockets in Nigeria, India, Pakistan and Afghanistan.  Plano Sunrise Rotary has donated $56,000 to the Foundation and has 36 Paul Harris Fellows.  We have accumulated 21,000 Foundation points which can be used for matching donations by members to encourage more to become Paul Harris Fellows. As is our custom, a book was donated to the Nellie McCall Library at the David McCall Elementary School in the name of the speaker and signed by him.   The book was "Three Pebbles and a Song" by Eileen Spinelli.

A new chairperson is needed for next year. Mabrie and Michelle are working on the $100,000 challenge. Elections for Club Officers and Directors for 2009-10 will be December 12th. Treasurer Yvonne Hanks has decided not to move up in the Officer ranks. Secretary Joyce reports that we have 55 members and that Becky Perry [Senior Living] has faded away.  Treasurer report was that some money has come in, some money has gone out and there is some money left over. International Director Bill Moore has plans to partner with the Prestonwood Rotary Club on a water project in Zambia.  The  Hendrick Academy Christmas Lunch will be December 15th at Tino's Too and we will be providing Gift cards as best we can for 65 students.
